POSITION:                                          TECHNICAL ASSISTANT I

                                                                (Kittredge Center Technical Support)

                                                                Business and Community Services

RESPONSIBILITIES: See reverse side.

 

REQUIRED

QUALIFICATIONS: General knowledge of computer tools, MS Office, audiovisual protocols, network protocols, LDC projectors; outstanding oral and written communications skills; team player; ability to lift technology equipment overhead and climb ladders to perform troubleshooting; ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.

 

PREFERRED

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree; one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in technical work; experience in technical skills outlined in required skills.

 

STARTING DATE: August 2007

 

COMPENSATION: $537.60 per week plus full state benefits.  Grade 11 (Candidates might qualify for placement above entry level salary if they are currently employed in the state system and transfer without a break in service, subject to verification by the Dean of Human Resources.)

 

HOURS:                                                37.5 hours per week (may include weekends).  Full State benefits.

Technical Assistant I

(Kittredge Center Technical Support)

 

 

General Statement of Duties:

Provide specific liaison between the Information Technology Division, end user clients (internal/external) and Business and Community Services.  Reviews clients' technology requirements and makes a determination as to proper alignment of existing systems within the Kittredge Center to ensure the fulfillment of the end users request.  Provides comprehensive technology liaison between end users, Kittredge Center and Information Technology to include:  scheduling, setup, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, trouble shooting and on-call support during non-traditional hours (weekends to ensure complete customer service satisfaction).

 

Supervision Received:

Coordinator for Non-Credit Registration and Kittredge Center Operations.

 

Supervision Exercised:

None.

 

Responsibilities:

 

1.                       Coordinates client's technology requirements with the Kittredge Center.

2.                       Develops a comprehensive understanding of the technology equipment in the Kittredge Center, to include application, setup and operation.

3.                       Performs troubleshooting of equipment and logs request for service with Helpdesk when unable to perform corrective measures, after a detailed examination of failures.

4.                       Acts as liaison to technology users as the central point of contact for information, service, notifications, daily operations and emergency procedures.

5.                       Maintains the database technology hardware assets.

6.                       Prepares weekly and monthly statistical reports, as requested.

7.                       May be involved in defining training curriculums, writing documentation, participating in system testing, and working with division liaisons for product releases.

8.                       May assist in training faculty and staff to maximize the use of their system.

9.                       May coordinate the implementation process for new staff and faculty from the time of hire to the point the customer is fully operational (live).

10.                    Confers with Kittredge Center to clarify priorities, escalation processes, and assignments.

11.                    May be required to perform duties during weekends and or holidays, depending on schedule.

12.                    Performs other duties as assigned.
